CORE EU and RickPACC co-funded a session at the 2023 EGU General Assembly
With the increasing number of man-made and natural disasters, there has been a growing consensus about mitigating risks by involving not only the scientific community but ensuring that populations are well-informed and prepared and therefore that societal resilience is strengthened.
Within this framework, as part of the European Geoscience Union (EGU) General Assembly, CORE EU and RiskPACC will co-chair a session focusing on strengthening risk perception and awareness by leveraging on communication and citizen science.
The session will take place in Vienna, Austria on 28th April, 08h30-12h30 CET. Many interesting speakers will be joining the event introducing the audience to a wide range of topics within this thematic from risk communication, to strengthening community preparedness, to targeting youngsters in strengthening risk perception and awareness, to fighting the spread of misinformation to mention a few.
Online participation will be enabled. Zoom meeting links will appear before the start of each session. The morning event will be followed by a poster presentation in hybrid format, 14h00-15h45 CET.
